Hunting Labradors and Service Labradoodles
For over 5 years, we have been serving the pets and families of our local area. We love caring and connecting with animals and creating everlasting relationships. We provide high quality hunting dogs and compassionate service animals. Our Labradors are from excellent bloodlines and all hold their own titles in AKC and HRC hunt tests. Now we are breeding family companions first, and driven hunters second.
A Lab/Poodle (F1) mix is popularly called a Labradoodle. This mixed breed combines traits from both parents. A Labradoodle puppy may more closely resemble a Poodle or a Labrador but usually has pronounced features of each.
Predicting the final temperament, size and color is more guessing than science. On the other hand puppies tend to closely resemble both parents in most ways. The parents of this litter show have demonstrated characteristics highly prized in our canine family menbers: active, playful, drawn to people, intelligent and readily trainable. They show every sign making excellent family dogs.
Labradoodle size, color, coat type, and personality can vary widely. They are low shed pets and great typically great with children.
Origins. The term "Labradoodle" was first used to describe his Labrador / Poodle cross by Donald Campbell (1955). However, the use of a Labradoodle as a guide / service dog was not common until 1989 when Australian breeder Wally Conron introduced the cross-breed to the Royal Guide Dog Association of Australia in Victoria.
Labradoodles have so many positive qualities that make them good family dogs, and it’s these very qualities that make Labradoodles great service dogs. The very first Labradoodle was created to be a seeing-eye dog, one of many duties performed by service dogs.
Labradoodles make great service dogs because they possess the qualities needed to perform the duties required: superior intelligence, patience, great affection for people and excelent trainability. Service dogs are used to improve the lives of people with various types of disabilities and so, their duties are also going to vary. Labradoodle service dogs may assist people suffering from blindness, multiple sclerosis cardiac issues, seizures and various other disabilities where they need assistance and regularity in their lives. The one thing that all service dogs must have in common is their ability to be trained to provide a service to their owners.
