Breeding dogs has been a passion for people through many centuries. Part art, part science, and total devotion, breeding will show you all the best in the human-and-dog bond. It is exciting and challenging.
Breeding purebred and high quality hybrid service dogs is also time consuming, expensive, and, occasionally, heartbreaking. The underlying purpose should be to improve the breed — not just increase its numbers. Breeding a litter begins with knowledge. Responsible breeders devote time to learning as much as they can about their breed, about canine health and training, and about AKC rules. One litter is a full time job. For the first 2 weeks you are up every 2-3 hours with the litter and mother supporting the mother's nutrition and puppy safety. For a full 8 weeks the breeder is responsible for timing every stage of development. This includes food transition, water introduction, medical care, and bird introduction. We time socialization and guide these dogs towards a positive and responsive bonding experience.

This is a beautiful litter of 2 Yellow Labradors
Puppies are identified by collar color:
1. Yellow Lab Female-(Orange) "Fish" Reserved for Banks Family
2. Yellow Lab Male- (Black) $1200
Our dogs were meant to hunt. We compete them in AKC and HRC Hunt Test as well as using them for personal hunting dogs. The prey drive is developed early and we work with the puppies prior to go home to their new families to socialize them for the perfect family addition.
Bird introduction starts at 6 weeks by playing with the puppies and bird wings, usually pheasant, dove or duck. At week 7 we start to introduce whole birds to the puppies. They are not yet able to hold a bird in their mouths. The goal is to trigger the prey drive for further training.
Our dogs, Labradors and Labradoodles start water introduction on day 49. Since they are not done with vaccinations, we start in a paddle pool. This litter will be in a lake on 3/25, if not picked up by then. Early positive introduction will give the new family a confident water dogs for hunting and recreation.
